The front suspension now features a coil over conversion with adjustable spring platforms and altered geometry from Global West in the US. The power steering box provided too much assistance and took the feel of the steering away. This was replaced by a manual rack which takes advantage of the improved geometry of the Global West setup.

To improve location of the rear axle all the rubber bushes were changed to polybushes. The addition of rose jointed angled radius arms has removed the axle tramp that can be seen in the film. This allows the LSD to transmit all 400HP of the Ford 302 V8 to the tarmac.

Anyone that has heard a V8 engine through straight pipes with no silencers will know the menacing growl that these engines can produce. Our customer wanted to enjoy this noise but not at the expense of comfortable cruising. So we designed and fabricated a stainless steel system with switchable silencers allowing race track growl or V8 burble at the flick of a switch.

For in car comfort the large armchair seats were re-trimmed in soft leather with a close resemblance to the look of the original factory vinyl. A Vintage Air, air conditioning system was added to further increase comfort in the inevitable modern traffic jam.

An all new wiring loom was created to include more fuses and relays for current hungry systems. The engine ignition is handled by an MSD digital 6AL system with rev limiter - a must for any V8 running on a carburettor. We also took the opportunity to add central locking and a state of the art alarm and immobiliser system.

In 68 seatbelts weren't compulsory so we added mounting points to the chassis and installed three point retractable seatbelts front and back. Also for improved rear visibility by other drivers LED rear lights were fitted.

Our customer wanted to keep this Mustang close to the original 68 spec but with sensible up grades.

1968 Bullitt Mustang

Built from a new shell to 1968 specification this Mustang is a copy of the car used in the Steve McQueen film Bullitt.

We have improved upon the originally 60's design by using some off the shelf upgrade parts and by making our own bespoke parts.
