Car Servicing

Servicing.

Servicing of a classic car is much more labour intensive than a modern car.
The development that modern cars go through couldn’t have been dreamed about by many of the engineers and designers that produced some of the iconic cars of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. This development has reduced the service intervals and items that need to be maintained and as such the mechanics feel and judgement is being lost. What is perfectly normal and acceptable on a classic car could well fail a modern MOT if the tester is not used to classic cars. Diagnosis of problems also comes down to the mechanics level of skill not a computer, these skills can only be gained through time served doing the job. So classic car servicing has become a specialist job in this modern high speed world that we find ourselves in.

What can we offer:

  • We only work on classic cars
  •  We only use high quality parts from trusted suppliers
  • We can arrange collection of your vehicle in covered and insured transport
  • Race preparation breed inspection schedule
  • Access to some of the country’s finest craftsmen
  • We have a steel flat floor for accurate suspension setup – road or race car
  • Portable emissions testing equipment (MOT class 1)

Made in England.

We are not specialists at everything – we work with local companies that specialise in fabrication, interior trimming, paint and machining. This ensures that any parts that we have to remake or redesign are to the highest quality and they are made in England – not China.

For accurate suspension setup a level floor is critical as this becomes the datum for any geometry adjustments. We use laser alignment tools and digital corner weight scales to achieve correct alignment of all four wheels. This can often transform the ride and handling of a vehicle.

Inspection.

Upon arrival your car will have a thorough inspection and test drive. This ensures that we find everything that could be a problem to you in the future and us in the short term. Our inspection schedule is based on our race preparation experience. A written copy is available to you, the customer, and we are more than happy to show and explain to the points highlighted by it.

Once any work has been completed the car is cleaned inside and out – no car leaves the workshop dirty!
