Jaguar D-Type

Development.

This Realm engineering D-Type came to us initially as a test bed for a fuel injection system that we are developing for a well known fuel system company. The fuel injection system running on this car is quite unique but as it is still under development so I cannot go into any further detail.

Restoration.

As well as carrying out this development work we have also restored and developed the rest of the car. The chassis has been zinc flame sprayed and powder coated. We have changed the Jaguar gearbox for a BMW 5 speed unit with a custom gear change mechanism. To improve the braking we have installed a Tilton pedal assembly to allow proper balancing of pressure between the front and rear brakes and the car has also been completely re-wired. We have also tidied the engine bay by panelling it in aluminium.
